Date: Late July Annually
First held in 1916 the Dungarvan Show is one of the longest running shows in the Southeast. In 2008 the inclement weather played a major part on Show day, however, all of the Classes ran to schedule with a surprising number of people battling the conditions! The Show Directors were delighted to have the Garda mounted unit in attendance and the Inter-Hunt Chase again proved very popular. The show for 2009 will be another action packed day on July 23rd. next. The show always features Horse, Pony, Cattle and Sheep Showing classes, as well as Show Jumping for Horses and Ponies, with lots of other attractions for the young and not so young. The Army will be in attendance as will the Mounted Gardai.
There is an action packed Home - Industry section and a Kids Corner which includes a bouncy slide, roundabouts, a climbing wall and The Copper Coast Mini-Farm.
A Free Bus Service will operate to and from the show every hour leaving Dungarvan from the bus stop at Davitts Quay.
Classes start at 10.00am and go on all day.
